专利说明:
1 Apparatus for cleaning a filter provided with a turning knob FIELD OF THE INVENTION The invention relates to an apparatus for cleaning a filter, comprising a 5 housing, a spindle in the housing, and a threaded carrier on which a filter can be applied on the spindle, which carrier is rotatable about the spindle and upon rotation is moving along the spindle, wherein the apparatus further comprises a spray nozzle having a orifice which, in the presence of a filter on the carrier and seen in the axial direction of the spindle, next to the spindle is directed on the filter. The water jet is thus not directed 10 to the center of the filter, but next to the center of the filter. This will cause the filter to turn around the spindle as a result of the water jet. More particularly, the invention relates to an apparatus for cleaning a filter cartridge that is widely used in a bubble and/or whirlpool bath, in a swimming pool or in a pond. 15 BACKGROUND TO THE INVENTION Such an apparatus is generally known from EP-A-2393573. The known apparatus has two spray nozzles parallel to each other and at a distance from one another, wherein the orifices are directed next to the spindle, and the spindle is located 20 between the two orifices. The filter to be cleaned has to be mounted on the carrier to and a water hose has to be connected to the spray nozzle. As a result of the gravity and/or as a result of the force of the water jet from the heart of the filter, the filter will rotate around the spindle and thereby moves along the spindle so that all the parts of the filter pass the water jet. Due to the centrifugal force, the water flows from the filter so 25 that the dirt is removed even better. The hose first has to be connected to one of the spray nozzles so that the filter turns for example clockwise, and thereby turns from bottom to top along the spindle, and then, the hose has to be connected to the other nozzle, allowing the filter to turn anticlockwise and from top to bottom. As a result, the filter is sprayed twice, and at 30 the end of the cleaning the carrier is back into the starting position. To avoid that the dirt is sprayed into the filter but rather is sprayed of the filter the orifice, preferably, is oriented at an angle to the longitudinal direction of the spindle.
2 SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the invention is to provide an apparatus for the cleaning of a filter of the type mentioned in the opening paragraph that is easier to use than the 5 known apparatus. To this end the apparatus according to the invention is characterized in that the apparatus comprises a turning knob, and in that the spray nozzle is connected to the turning knob and is eccentrically with respect to the center line of the turning knob. In a first position of the knob, the water jet coming from the nozzle is first sprayed against the filter on the one side of the spindle. By turning the knob the water 10 jet is then sprayed against the filter on the other side of the spindle. As a result, there is only one spray head needed, and the hose does not need to be changed from one spray nozzle to another spray nozzle. Only the turning knob has to be rotated, whereby the hose remains connected to the spray nozzle. As a result, the apparatus according to the invention is easier to use. 15 An embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention is characterized in that the turning knob is rotatable between a first position in which the orifice, seen in the axial direction of the spindle, is directed next to the spindle, and a second position in which the orifice, seen in the axial direction of the spindle, is directed next to the spindle on the other side of the spindle. Preferably, hereby the knob is 20 rotatable through 180 degrees. A further embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention is characterized in that the nozzle is integrated in the turning knob. The turning knob with integrated spray nozzle is carried out as one part, and therefore is inexpensive to manufacture. 25 Yet a further embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention is characterized in that the turning knob is rotatable in an opening present in the housing, so that no additional channels or openings have to be present in the housing. Preferably the center line of the turning knob intersects the axis of the spindle so that in the two extreme positions at the same distance from the spindle the 30 water jets spray against the filter. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS 3 In the following, the invention will be elucidated on the basis of an exemplary embodiment of the apparatus according to the invention shown in the drawings. In these drawings: Figure 1 shows an embodiment of the apparatus according to the 5 invention in perspective, and Figure 2 shows a detail of the apparatus at the location of the knob in cross section. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION 10 In the figures 1 and 2 an embodiment of the apparatus for the cleaning of filters is shown. The apparatus 1 has a housing 3 which near the underside is provided with a discharge opening 5. A spindle 7 is fixed on the bottom of the housing, an internally screw-threaded carrier (not shown) is rotatable on the spindle, and upon rotation is moved along the spindle. For details of the apparatus reference is made to 15 EP-A-2393573. A filter 9 to be cleaned is placed on the carrier. The apparatus is provided with a turning knob 11 which is provided with a connecting piece 13 to which a water hose can be connected via a well-known coupling. The turning knob 11 is rotatable between a first extreme position A, in which the orifice, seen in the axial direction of the spindle, is directed next to the center line 15 20 of the spindle, and a second position in which the orifice, seen in the axial direction of the spindle, is directed next to the spindle on the other side of the spindle. In Figure 2, a detail of the apparatus is shown in cross section at the location of the knob 11. The turning knob is present in an opening 17 in the wall 19 of the housing 3. In the extension of the connection piece 13 there is a nozzle 21. The 25 nozzle is provided with an orifice 23 which is such that the resulting water jet is directed to the filter at an angle with the center line 15 of the spindle. The spray nozzle 21 is arranged eccentrically with respect to the center line 25 and together with the turning knob forms one injection-molded part. The center line 25 of the turning knob is perpendicular to and intersects the axis 15 of the spindle. In the figure in broken lines 30 the nozzle with connection piece is shown in the two extreme positions. To spray the dirt off the filter 9 the orifice in the two extreme positions of the spray head is at an angle of 60 degrees with the axis 15 of the spindle 7. As a result, the water jets of emerging from the nozzles 27 and 29 are directed upwards and downwards, wherein the orifice 23 of the spray nozzle is directed to the center line 25 at 4 an angle of 30 degrees. To let the filter 9 turn by the jet, the water jets 27, 29 seen in the axial direction of the spindle, are directed on the filter 9 next to the spindle 7, as shown in Figure 1. For the cleaning of a filter 9, the filter should be placed on the carrier and 5 a water hose first has to be connected to the connecting piece 13. The knob 11 is first rotated to position A. As a result of the force of the water jet 27 the filter 9 will rotate around the spindle and thereby moves upwards along the spindle while rotating (the filters have to be rinsed from top to bottom). All parts of the filter will pass the water jet. Then the knob 11 is turned to position B, causing the filter, while turning, to move 10 to bottom. Here the filter is sprayed a second time and the carrier returns into the starting position. Although in the above the invention is elucidated on the hand of the drawings, it should be noted that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiment shown in the drawings. The invention also extends to embodiment deviating from the 15 embodiments shown in the drawings within the framework defined by the claims.
